About the role:
The specialist should optimize procurement processes to secure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, while fostering strong supplier relationships. They must streamline operations to enhance efficiency and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational objectives and project requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability criteria.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
- Maintain supplier relationships, address issues, and resolve disputes to ensure ongoing collaboration and service delivery.
- Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate disruptions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers and department heads, to understand procurement needs and priorities.
- Prepare and review purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, reorder points, and stock replenishment processes to optimize inventory turnover and minimize stockouts.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and audits to assess performance, identify improvement areas, and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare the procurement-related dashboards with complete details of the purchase order history, cash flow & payments in MS Excel.
Skills and attributes:
- In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Proficiency in contract management and vendor relationship management
- Familiarity with supply chain management and inventory control principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Integrity and ethical behavior in all procurement activities.
- Adaptability to changing business needs and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
- Strong English skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related studies.
- Any certification in supply chain management or inventory management will be a plus point.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a procurement officer/ procurement coordinator.
- Must be familiar with inventory management software, and should have expert-level experience in MS Excel.
